Methi Bhindi Curry Recipe


Ingredients :

Methi / Venthayak keerai

Bhindi /Ladies Finger/ Vendakkai – 1 cup

Tomato’s/ Thakkali – 2 chopped

Onions/ Vengayam – 1 cup

Ginger Garlic paste/ Inji Poondu Vizhuthu

Curry leaves/ Karuveppilai

Coriander leaves/ Kothamalli ilai

Mustard/ Kaduku

Cumin seeds/ Seerakam

Tamarind juice/ Puli Karaisal

Red chili powder/ Milagai Thool

Coriander powder/ Dhania Thool

Turmeric powder/ Manjal Thool

Oil/ Yennai

Method :

1. Take a pan put oil, add cumin seeds, mustard, ginger garlic paste, onions, tomato’s, curry leaves, turmeric powder mix and fry well

2. Add chopped bhindi, methi leaves, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, mix well, add tamarind juice, little water close the lid for the curry to boil

3. After the curry gets ready add coriander leaves to garnish and the recipe is ready

 

Methi in tamil is called Venthayak keerai and in english is called Fenugreek leaves

Bhindi in tamil is called Vendakkai and in english is called Ladies Finger/ Okra

Curry leaves in tamil is called Karuveppilai
