Ingredients :
Chicken – boneless pieces
Basmati Rice/ Biryani Rice
Plain Yogurt
Onions – 1 cup
Capsicum – 1 (chopped)
Pudina leaves – few
Spring onions/ Vengaya thal – 3 (chopped)
Tomato – 1 cup
Green chili’s – 3
Cumin seeds
Star Anise
Cinnamon/ Pattai
Cloves/ Krambu
Pepper/ Milagu
Cardamom/ Elaichi/ Yelakkai
Bay leaves/ Brinji ilai
Cashew nuts
Biryani Masala
Red chili powder and Coriander powder – a pinch
Turmeric powder
Ghee
Oil
Method :
1. Take chicken pieces in a bowl add plain yogurt, mix well and keep it aside
2. Soak the rice an hour before preparing the recipe
3. Take a pressure cooker add ghee, oil, cumin seeds, star anise, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, bay leaves, pepper, cashew nuts and fry
4. Add all the vegetables ie., onions, capsicum, green chili’s, spring onions, tomato, pudina leaves, to the fried masala ingredients, also add turmeric powder, biryani masala, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt and mix well
5. After the vegetables are fried add the chicken pieces, mix well and fry a little
6. Add rice, and water (for two cups of rice add one and a quarter cups of water), close the lid of the pressure cooker and wait for exactly one whistle and before the second whistle starts remove it from the stove, the recipe is ready
