Spicy Mutton Curry Recipe


Ingredients :

Mutton/ Aatu kari – small/medium size pieces

Onions/ Vengayam – 1 cup

Tomato/ Thakkali – 1 cup

Coriander leaves/ Kothamalli ilai

Coconut milk/ Thengai paal

Ginger garlic paste/ Inji poondu vizhuthu

Cinnamon/ Pattai

Cloves/ Krambu

Star Anise

Cumin seeds/ Seerakam/ Jeeragham

Red chili powder/ Milagai thool

Coriander powder/ Dhania thool

Turmeric powder/ Manjal thool

Pepper powder/ Milagu thool

Oil/ Yennai

Method :

1. Take a pan, add oil, cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, let it splutter and fry well

2. After frying the masala ingredients, fry by adding ginger garlic paste, onions and tomato’s, also add turmeric powder, mix and fry well

3. Now add the mutton pieces to the fried masala, mix and fry well

4. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, salt, mix well. Add sufficient amount of water, close the lid for the gravy and mutton to cook

5. When the gravy is getting cooked add coconut milk, mix well and allow it to cook until the gravy reaches a thick consistency

6. Garnish with coriander leaves and the recipe is ready
