Festival Special Murukku Recipe

Ingredients :

Raw Rice/ Pachai Arisi – 6 cups

Urad Dhal/ Ulutham Paruppu – 3/4 cups


Cumin Seeds/ Seerakam/ Jeeragham

Salt/ Uppu

Asafoetida/ Asafetida/ Perungaya Podi

Oil/ Yennai

* Wash both raw rice and urad dhal, drain water and let it dry, after drying roast both the ingredients and grind them separately to fine flour

Method :

1. Take a bowl add rice flour, urad dhal flour, cumin seeds, salt and asafoetida water (dilute salt and asafoetida in water), and mix well

2. Also add butter and sufficient amount of water to the flour to make dough

3. Take a pan, add oil and heat it

4. Make spiral shape murukku’s from the dough with hand by applying little oil, deep fry the murukku’s in oil previously heated, the recipe is ready
