Vermicelli Kheer Recipe | Semiya Payasam Recipe


Ingredients :

Vermicelli/ Semiya – 1 cup

Milk/ Paal – 2 to 2 1/2 cups

Sugar/ Sakkarai/ Chakkara – 1 cup

Cashew nuts/ Mundhiri Paruppu

Raisins/ Kismis

Cardamom/ Elaichi/ Yelakkai

Saffron/ Kum Kum Poo

Ghee

Method :

1. Roast vermicelli, cashew nuts and raisins separately by adding ghee

2. Take a vessel, add milk and boil it, while its boiling add the roasted vermicelli, mix well and let it cook

3. Now add sugar to the payasam and mix well

4. Add roasted cashew nuts, raisins, cardamom and saffron, mix well, the recipe is ready

 

Vermicelli in tamil is called Semiya

Milk in tamil is called Paal

Sugar in tamil is called Sakkarai/ Chakkara

Cashew nuts in tamil is called Mundhiri Paruppu

Raisins in tamil is called Kismis

Cardamom in hindi is called Elaichi and in tamil is called Yelakkai

Saffron in tamil is called Kum Kum Poo
