Tasty Methi Leaves Pulav Recipe


Ingredients :

Fenugreek Leaves/ Methi Leaves/ Vendhaya keerai – 2 cups

Kasoori Methi

Mint leaves/ Pudina ilai – 1 cup

Onions/ Vengayam – 1 cup

Tomato’s/ Thakkali – 1 cup

Green Peas/ Pachai pattani

Basmati Rice – 3 cups

Red Chili powder/ Milagai Thool

Coriander powder/ Dhania Thool

Turmeric powder/ Manjal Thool

Garam Masala powder

Cumin seeds/ Seerakam/ Jeeragham

Pepper/ Milagu

Ginger Garlic Paste/ Inji Poondu Vizhuthu

Coriander leaves/ Kothamalli ilai

Oil/ Yennai

Ghee

Method :

1. Take a pan add oil, ghee, cumin seeds, pepper, onions, tomato’s, green peas, kasoori methi, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, mix well and fry

2. After frying add fenugreek leaves, mint leaves, Mix well and cook

3. Add basmati rice (soak it for an hour before preparing the dish) to the above ingredients, sufficient amount of water and pressure cook. Garnish with coriander leaves, the recipe is ready

 

Fenugreek Leaves in hindi is called Methi Leaves and in tamil is called Vendhaya keerai

Mint leaves in tamil is called Pudina ilai

Onions in tamil is called Vengayam

Tomato’s in tamil is called Thakkali

Green Peas in tamil is called Pachai pattani

Red Chili powder  in tamil is called Milagai Thool

Coriander powder in tamil is called Dhania Thool

Turmeric powder in tamil is called Manjal Thool

Cumin seeds in tamil is called  Seerakam/ Jeeragham

Pepper in tamil is called Milagu

Ginger Garlic Paste in tamil is called  Inji Poondu Vizhuthu

Coriander leaves in tamil is called Kothamalli ilai

Oil in tamil is called Yennai
