Festival Special Baby Corn Halwa Recipe

Ingredients :

Baby Corn – chopped (2/3 cups)

Cashew nuts/ Mundhiri Paruppu – 10 – 15

Cardamom/ Elaichi/ Yelakkai – 5

Almond/ Badam – 7

Sugar syrup

Saffron/ Kum Kum Poo – little

Kova/ Palkova – 1 1/2 cups


Kesari color/ Saffron color/ Orange food color – a pinch

Method :

* Make sugar syrup by adding sugar to boiling water, and stirring  it continuously

1. Grind baby corn to paste. Then take a pan put ghee and heat it, after heating the ghee add the grinded paste and fry

2. Now take another vessel add baby corn paste, sugar syrup, cardamom, saffron, pinch of kesari color and ghee. Mix well and stir continuously until the sweet separates from the vessel without sticking

3. Once the sweet is ready decorate it with the nuts like cashew’s and almond’s, the recipe is ready


Cashew nuts in tamil is called Mundhiri Paruppu

Cardamom in hindi is called Elaichi and in tamil is called Yelakkai

Almond in tamil is called Badam

Saffron in tamil is called Kum Kum Poo
