Ulundu Vadai Recipe | Medhu Vadai Recipe


Ingredients :

Ulundu/ Urad Dal/ Black Gram – 2 cups

Onions/ Vengayam – 1 big (chopped finely)

Ginger/ Inji

Garlic/ Poondu

Green Chili’s/ Pachai Milagai – 5

Curry Leaves/ karuveppilai

Salt

Oil/ Yennai

Method:

1. Soak the black gram in water an hour before preparing the recipe

2. Grind the black gram coarsely by adding ginger, garlic, salt, half quantity of the chopped onions  and green chili’s

3. After grinding the black gram, add finely chopped curry leaves, the remaining onion’s and green chili’s

4. Heat oil in a vessel, make flat round shaped vadai’s (apply oil to hands for smoothly dropping the vadai’s into the oil pan) and deep fry them until they turn to a golden brown color, the recipe is ready

 

Black gram in tamil is called Ulundu

Onions in tamil is called Vengayam

Ginger in tamil is called  Inji

Garlic in tamil is called Poondu

Green Chili’s in tamil is called Pachai Milagai

Curry Leaves in tamil is called Karuveppilai

Oil in tamil is called Yennai
