Aaloo Palak Recipe


Ingredients :

1. Spinach/ Pasalai Keerai/ Palak

2. Potato/ Urulai Kizhangu/ Aaloo – 2/3

3. Onions/ Vengayam/ Pyaz – 1 big

4. Tomato Puree – 1/4 cup

5. Green Chili’s/ Pachai Milagai/ Hari Mirch – 2

6. Ginger and Garlic/ Inji Poondu/ Adrak Lahsun

7. Curry Leaves/ Karuveppilai/ Kari Patta

8. Garam Masala Powder

9. Red Chili Flakes

10. Cumin seeds/ Seerakam/ Jeera

11. Mustard/ Kaduku

12. Red Chili Powder/ Milagai Thool/ Lal Mirch Powder

13. Turmeric Powder/ Manjal Thool/ Haldi

14. Butter

15. Salt

Method :

1. Take a pan, add oil and heat it, then add onions, green chili’s, ginger and garlic. Mix and fry well

2. While the above ingredients are getting cooked, add spinach, mix and fry well. Then grind all the ingredients to a fine paste

3.  Now take another bowl, add water and boil it, while the water is boiling add salt, turmeric powder, mix well, then add potato’s and steam cook them

4. After the potato’s are nicely cooked and ready, strain water and keep it aside

5. Take a pan, add oil and heat it, then add cumin seeds, mustard, let it splutter. Now add the grinded spinach paste, mix well and cook

6. While the spinach is getting cooked, add garam masala powder, red chili powder, salt and mix well. Add potato’s (previously cooked) mix well and cook, then add tomato puree, curry leaves, mix well and cook. Then add little water and let it cook for 3-4 minutes

7. Add red chili flakes, small cube of butter, mix and cook well until the butter melts, the recipe is ready and can be served with any type of parathas, puri’s, chapathi’s and etc.,
