Dragon Fruit – About Dragon Fruit and How to eat Dragon Fruit

Dragon Fruit :

  •  It belongs to the genus Hylocereus, also called as Pitahaya. The cactus hylocereus is native to Mexico
  • There are three varieties of Dragon Fruit
  1. with Red skin and White flesh
  2. Red skin and Red flesh
  3. Yellow skin and White flesh
  • Its skin has a leathery texture with leafy/ scaly skin
  • The pulp of the fruit has a sweet taste, also has lots of black seeds throughout the pulp/ flesh of the fruit like in kiwi
  • It is rich in Vitamin C, it also has other vitamins like B, B1, B2 and B3


How to eat a Dragon Fruit :

Cut the fruit right in the miiddle (ie., on its vertical side) and scoop out its pulp with a spoon
