Capsicum Thogayal Recipe | Kudamilagai Thogayal Recipe


Ingredients :

1. Capsicum – 1 big (chopped)

2. Onion / Vengayam – 1 cup

3. Grated Coconut / Thuruviya Thengai – 1/4 cup

4. Ginger Garlic Paste / Inji Poondu Vizhuthu

5. Dried Red Chili / Kaaintha Milagai – 5/6

6. Peanut / Nila Kadalai

7. Coriander / Dhania

8. Split Black Gram / Urad Dal / Ulundu – 2 Ts

9. Asafetida / Asafoetida

10. Turmeric Powder / Manjal Thool – 1 Ts

11. Cumin Seeds / Seerakam

12. Oil / Yennai

Method :

1. Dry roast all the ingredients like grated coconut, dried red chili’s, peanuts, coriander, split black gram/ urad dal, asafetida, turmeric powder and cumin seeds till they turn golden brown in color, Grind them to a fine paste (chutney consistency)

2. In the same pan add oil and heat it, add ginger garlic paste, onions, salt saute them well for 2-3 minutes then add capsicum and saute them well for another 2-3 minutes. Add them to the previously grinded paste and grind them all together, add some dried red chili’s (roasted in oil) on top of the thogayal, the recipe is ready
