Sprouted Wheat Berries Poriyal Recipe | Mulaikattiya Godhumai Poriyal Recipe


Ingredients :

1. Sprouted Wheat / Mulaikattiya Godhumai

2. Onion / Vengayam – 1 cup

3. Grated Coconut / Thuruviya Thengai – 1/2 cup

4. Ginger and Garlic / Inji and Poondu – finely chopped

5. Curry Leaves – few

6. Dried Red Chili / Kaaintha Milagai – 5/6

7. Cumin Seeds and Mustard / Seerakam and Kaduku

8. Turmeric Powder / Manjal Thool – 2 Ts

9. Coriander Powder / Dhania Thool – 2 Ts

10. Asafetida / Asafoetida

11. Salt

12. Oil / Yennai

Method :

1. Take a pan add oil and heat it, then add cumin seeds, mustard, let it splutter. Now add other ingredients (one by one) like dried red chili’s, curry leaves, turmeric powder, coriander powder, asafetida, grated coconut, ginger and garlic, saute all the ingredients well

2. Then add onions, saute them well for 2-3 minutes, then add the sprouted wheat and salt, saute them well for another 2 minutes, add sufficient amount of water, close the lid and let it cook, garnish with coriander leaves, the recipe is ready
