WaterCress Stir Fry (Indian Style) Recipe / Keerai Poriyal Recipe


Ingredients : 

1. WaterCress (keerai) – chopped

2. Onion / Vengayam – 1 cup

3. Ginger and Garlic / Inji and Poondu – chopped

4. Dried Red Chili’s / Kaaintha Milagai – 4/5

5. Black Gram / Urad Dal / Ulundu – 1 tbs

6. Grated Coconut / Thuruviya Thengai – 1/2 cup

7. Cumin Seeds / Seerakam

8. Mustard / Kaduku

9. Coriander Powder / Dhania Thool – 2 Ts

10. Turmeric Powder – 1 Ts

11. Salt

12. Oil / Yennai

Method : 

1. Take a pan, add oil and heat it, add cumin’s and mustard, let it splutter, then add all other ingredients like ginger, garlic, dried red chili’s. urad dal, grated coconut, coriander powder, turmeric powder, Saute them well. Now add onions, saute them well for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and mix well

2. Now add the watercress(keerai) and saute them well, add sufficient amount of water and let it cook (until the watercress gets cooked well), the recipe is ready
