Keerai Thuvaiyal (thogayal) Recipe

Ingredients :

1. Watercress / Spinach or any green leafy vegetable/ Keerai

2. Tamarind Paste / Puli Karaisal – 1-2 Tbs

3. Dried Red Chili / Kaaintha Milagai – 3/4

4. Asafetida

5. Coriander / Dhania

6. Black Gram / Urad Dal / Ulundu – 1 Tbs

7. Split Bengal Gram / Chana Dal / Kadalai Paruppu – 1 Tbs

8. Mustard / Kaduku

9. Oil / Yennai

Method :

1. Take a pan add oil and heat it, add all the ingredients like dried red chili’s, asafetida, coriander, chana dal, urad dal, let it splutter. Now add the watercress/ keerai and saute them well

2. Add the ingredients to the grinder, also add tamarind paste and salt, grind it to a fine paste (add little water), transfer it to a bowl

3. In a pan, add oil and heat it, add mustard and let it splutter. Add this to the previously prepared keerai thuvaiyal, the recipe is ready
