Dum Aloo (Aaloo) Recipe


Ingredients :

Ingredients To Dry Grind (Powder) :

1. Cashew Nuts / Munthiri Paruppu

2. Cinnamon Sticks / Pattai – 2

3. Cardamom / Yelakkai / Elaichi

4. Cloves / Krambu

5. Coriander / Dhania – 2 Ts

6. Cumin Seeds / Seerakam

7. Pepper Cons / Milagu

Other Ingredients :

1. Red Chili Powder / Milagai Thool – 1 Tbs

2. Turmeric Powder / Manjal Thool – 2 Ts

3. Onion / Vengayam – 1 cup

4. Ginger Garlic Paste / Inji Poondu Vizhuthu

5. Bay Leaves / Brinji Ilai

6. Yogurt / Curd / Thayir – 1/4 cup

7. Steam Cooked Small Potato – 7/8

Method :

1. Take a pan add oil and heat it, add the steam cooked potato’s and fry them until they turn slightly golden brown in color, remove the potato’s and set them aside

2. Now in the same pan, add bay leaves, onions and saute them well for 2-3 minutes

3. Then add ginger garlic paste, mix well, add the grinded powder, mix and saute it well, Now add the yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, mix them well, and sufficient amount of water if required

4. Add the previously fried potato’s, mix well, and let the curry cook, the recipe is ready
