Palak Biryani Recipe | Spinach Biryani Recipe


Ingredients :

1. Spinach / Palak

2. Onion / Vengayam – 1 cup

3. Tomato / Thakkali – 1 cup

4. Green Chili / Pachai Milagai – 1/2

5. Coriander Leaves / Kothamalli Ilai

6. Shredded Coconut / Thuruviya Thengai – 1/4 cup

7. Ginger Garlic Paste / Inji Poondu Vizhuthu

8. Red Chili Powder / Milagai Thool – 2 Tbs

9. Coriander Powder / Dhania Thool – 1 Tbs

10. Cumin Powder / Seerakam Thool – 2 Ts

11. Turmeric Powder / Manjal Thool – 2 Ts

12. Bay Leaves, Cinnamon, Cloves, Dagad Phool / Brinji Ilai, Pattai, Krambu, Kalpasi

13. Dried Fenugreek Leaves / Kasoori Methi (optional while grinding paste)

14. Rice – cook separately and set it aside to mix it

15. Oil / Yennai, Ghee

 

Method : 

1. Take a pan add oil and heat it, add onions and fry them well until they turn golden brown in color, set them aside

2. Grind to paste by adding ingredients like coriander leaves, green chili’s, dried fenugreek leaves, spinach, and tomato

3. Now in the same pan, add oil, ghee and heat it, add other ingredients like bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon, dagad phool, ginger garlic paste , then add the grinded paste and cook

4. Now add all the dry powder ingredients like, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, mix well and cook

5. Once the paste starts thickening add salt, mix well, Add the previously fried onions and cooked rice and mix well, the recipe is ready
