Baked Mushroom Wonton Recipe – Indian Style / Indo Chinese Special Recipe


Ingredients :

(For Making Wonton Wraps)

1. All Purpose Flour / Maida – 2 cups

2. Egg / Muttai – 2  (each of them beaten in 1/2 cup of water separately – one for mixing with all purpose flour for making the wraps and another for egg wash to seal the wraps after stuffing)

3. Salt

(For Making the Stuffing)

1. Paneer / Cottage Cheese – 1 cup shredded

2. Mushroom – cut into small pieces

3. Pepper Powder / Milagu Thool

4. Greens of Green Onions / Vengayathaal – cut into small pieces

5. Cheese – any grated cheese – 2-3 Ts

6. Salt

7. Oil / Yennai

Method :

1. Take a mixing bowl and add all purpose flour, salt, egg (mixed in half cup of water), mix and knead it to a fine dough, and set it aside for 15-20 minutes, then make small sized balls out of it and flatten them using a rolling pin, cut them to square size pieces

2. For the stuffing take a mixing bowl and add mushrooms, paneer, greens of green onions, pepper powder, salt, grated cheese, mix well

3. Then take a teaspoon of the stuffing and place it on one corner of the wrap, apply egg wash on all the four sides, and roll it until the center of the square ie., wrap, and cross over the two edges and fold back the fourth edge

4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease the baking tray and place them on the tray and bake them for 20-25 minutes or until they turn golden brown in color, the recipe is ready
