Mixed Vegetable Bonda Recipe


Ingredients :

1. Potato / Urulai Kizhangu – 2 steam cooked and mashed

2. Onion / Vengayam – 1 cup

3. Carrot – 1/2 cup

4. Green Peas / Pachai Pattani – 1/2 cup

5. Green Chili / Pachai Milagai – 1 or 2

6. Ginger/ Inji – finely chopped

7. Coriander Leaves / Kothamalli Ilai – few

8. Turmeric Powder / Manjal Thool – 1 Ts

9. Black Gram / Urad Dal / Ulundu

10. Coriander Seeds / Dhania

For Making Batter : 

(Make a fine and thick batter )

1. Gram Flour / Chickpea Flour / Besan – 1 1/2 cup

2. Rice Flour Powder / Arisi Maavu – 1/2 cup

3. Baking Powder – a pinch

4. Asafetida

5. Salt

6. Oil / Yennai

Method :

1. Take a pan add oil and heat it, add coriander seeds, urad dal, and turmeric powder, let it splutter

2. Then add ginger, green chili’s and onions, saute them well

3. Now add the vegetables, saute it well for 3-4 minutes, switch off the stove and add the vegetable mixture in a mixing bowl along with mashed potato’s, also add cilantro/ coriander leaves, mix well

4. Make small balls out of the stuffing, dip it in batter and deep fry them in oil until they turn golden brown in color, serve hot with chutney, recipe is ready
