Eral Thengai Curry Recipe | Coconut Shrimp Gravy Recipe


Ingredients :

1. Shrimp / Eral – small / medium sized

2. Onion / Vengayam – 1 cup

3. Tamarind Extract / Puli Karaisal

4. Curry Leaves / Karuveppilai – few

5. Mustard Seeds / Kaduku

6. Curry Masala Powder – 2 Ts

7. Coriander Powder / Dhania Thool – 1 Ts

8. Turmeric Powder / Manjal Thool – 1 Ts

9. Red Chili Powder / Milagai Thool – 1-2 Ts

Grind To Paste by Adding :

1. Coconut / Thengai – 1 cup

2. Fennel Seeds / Saunf / Sombu – few

3. Green Chili / Pachai Milagai – 1 or 2

4. Ginger Garlic Paste / Inji Poondu Vizhuthu

Method :

1. Take a pan, add oil and heat it, add mustard seeds and let it splutter, then add curry leaves and onions, saute it well for 2 minutes

2. Then add the grinded paste, mix well, also add all the powder masala ingredients like coriander powder, turmeric powder, curry masala powder, red chili powder, mix well

3. Now add eral/ shrimp, saute all the ingredients together well, add salt and sufficient amount of water, let the curry cook / cook until shrimp gets cooked well, the recipe is ready
