Pudina Chutney Recipe | Mint Chutney Recipe


Ingredients :

  1. Mint / Pudina – 1 big bunch – washed and leaves picked apart
  2. Dried Red Chili / Kaaintha Milagai – few – 3 or 4
  3. Garlic / Poondu – finely chopped – 3 or 4
  4. Chana Dal / Kadalai Paruppu / Split Bengal Gram – 1 to 2 Ts
  5. Urad Dal / Ulundu / Black Gram – 1 Ts
  6. Grated Coconut / Thuruviya Thengai – 1 small cube
  7. Asafetida / Hing / Perungaya Thool
  8. Tamarind Paste / Puli Karaisal – made with small lemon size tamarind
  9. Oil / Yennai

For Tempering :

  1. Mustard / Kaduku
  2. Curry Leaves / Karuveppilai – few

 

Method :

  1. Take a pan add oil and heat it, then add ingredients like asafetida, dried red chili’s, garlic, chana dal, urad dal, mix and saute them well, then add the mint leaves, mix all ingredients together well and saute them
  2. Transfer the ingredients to mixer grinder, also add tamarind paste, shredded coconut and salt, grind it to a fine paste, transfer it to a serving bowl
  3. For tempering, heat oil in a small pan, add mustard and curry leaves, let it splutter, add it to the chutney, the recipe is ready
