Cauliflower Pepper Masala Fry Recipe


Ingredients :

  1. Cauliflower / Pookosu – medium size florets
  2. Curry Leaves / Karuveppilai – few
  3. Garam Masala Powder – 1 Ts
  4. Oil / Yennai
  5. Salt

For Making Batter To Coat And Fry Cauliflowers : add sufficient amount of water and make the batter (consistency should be thick)
1. All Purpose Flour / Maida – 3 tbs
2. Rice Flour / Arisi Maavu – 2 Tbs
3. Corn Starch / Sola Maavu- 1 Tbs
4. Green chili’s / Pachai Milagai – 1 or 2
5. Red chili powder Milagai Thool – 2 Ts
6. Pepper Powder / Milagu Thool – 1 Ts
7. Ginger Garlic Paste / Inji Poondu Vizhuthu
8. Salt

For Making Masala Paste :

1. Onion / Vengayam – 1 finely chopped
2. Tomato / Thakkali – 1 finely chopped
3. Ginger and Garlic / Inji and Poondu – chopped
4. Coriander Seeds / Dhania
5. Cumin Seeds / Seerakam
6. Peanuts  / Nila Kadalai – few
7. Dried Red Chili / Kaaintha Milagai – 2

 

Method :

  1. Add the cauliflower florets to the batter prepared, mix and coat well
  2. Prepare the masala paste and set it aside
  3. Add oil to a pan, heat it, deep fry the cauliflower florets until they turn golden brown in color and set it aside
  4. Take another pan add oil and heat it, add the grinded masala paste, mix and saute well until raw flavor goes away, then add the fried cauliflower florets, mix well and saute them, add salt and mix, let it cook
  5. When its almost done, add garam masala powder, curry leaves, mix well, cook for two more minutes, switch off the flame, the recipe is ready
