Pachai Milagai (Green Chili) Puli Kuzhambu Recipe


Ingredients :

Ingredients To Dry Roast And Grind To Fine Powder :
1. Raw Rice / Pachai Arisi – 2 Ts
2. Split Red Gram/ Split Lentils / Thuvaram Paruppu – 1 to 2 Ts
3. Coriander Seeds / Dhania – 1 Ts
4. Fenugreek Seeds / Venthayam – very few
5. Asafetida / Perungaya Thool

For Tempering :
1. Mustard Seeds / Kaduku
2. Fenugreek Seeds / Venthayam
3. Curry Leaves / Karuveppilai

Other Ingredients :

  1. Green Chili / Pachai Milagai – 5 cut to pieces
  2. Tamarind Paste / Puli Karaisal
  3. Turmeric Powder / Manjal Thool – 1 Ts
  4. Salt
  5. Oil / Yennai

 

Method :

  1. Take a pan, add all the ingredients under to dry roast and grind, roast them, once the ingredients cool off add them to mixer grinder and make a fine powder, set it aside
  2. In the same pan or another pan, add oil and heat it, add the green chili’s, saute them well, until they are cooked well, then remove from stove and set them aside
  3. Now take a vessel and heat it, add the tamarind water, and let it boil, once it starts boiling add turmeric powder and salt, mix well and cook until the raw smell goes, then add the grinded masala powder, mix well, you can see the consistency of the curry getting thick, once u add the powder, mix well, let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes then add the previously sauted green chili’s, mix well, let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes, then switch off the flame
  4. Start the tempering process by adding the mentioned above ingredients under to temper, then add it to the curry, mix well, the recipe is ready
