Crispy Onion Pakoda (Pakora) Recipe

Ingredients For Making Crispy Onion Pakoda (Pakora) Recipe :

1. Onion / Vengayam – 3 big – chopped thinly
2. Ginger / Inji – 1/4 cup – thinly sliced
3. Green Chili / Pachai Milagai – 3 – cut thinly
4. Curry Leaves / Karuveppilai – few – chopped
5. Cashew Nuts / Munthiri – few – split
6. Coriander Leaves – few

Dry Ingredients required for coating the onions :

1. Gram Flour / Besan / Kadalai Maavu – 3 cups
2. Rice Flour / Arisi Maavu – 1 and 1/4 cups
3. Baking Powder – 1 Ts
4. Fennel Seeds / Sombu – 1 Ts
5. Cumin Seeds / Seerakam – 1 Ts
6. Asafetida and Salt
7. Red Chili Powder / Milagai Thool – 1 or 2 Ts



Crispy Onion Pakoda (Pakora) Recipe

Method  For Making Crispy Onion Pakoda (Pakora) Recipe :

  1. Take a mixing bowl and add all the dry powder ingredients mix well, then add all the vegetables mentioned above to the dry powder ingredients and mix well, until they coat well, then add 1 to 2 Ts of oil and mix them well
  2. Meanwhile add oil (sufficient amount to deep fry) in a kadai or a deep dish for frying, heat it
  3. Also sprinkle some water in the onions and flour mixture and mix them do not add more water just sprinkle a little for them to coat a little bit with  the besan flour, might stick a little, now drop them in little batches in the heated oil and fry them until they turn golden brown in color, remove or absorb excess oil with tissue, the recipe is ready
